Kari Samantha was an American artist, actress and vocalist (born on the 28th of April, 1967). Wuhrer began her career as she was a teenager. She is best known for playing Maggie Beckett on the TV series Sliders, as well as as the character of Sheriff Samantha Parker, in the horror-comedy film Eight Legged Freaks. Wuhrer was born at Brookfield Connecticut as her mother was Karin Noble, who worked as a payroll clerk, and German American Andrew Wuhrer. She has 3 siblings. In her teens She performed in nightclubs, sneaking out of the house to sing. After attending the Wooster School, at 13 years old, she began studying acting. After that, she studied at the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, Marymount Manhattan College at Columbia University and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London with the well-known professor Uta Hagen.
