She is the daughter of Harvey Welker, a Native American Father as well as Julie Welker, an African American Mother. Her father works in engineering while her mother works as an agent. Walker attended Germantown Friends School, which is part of the Germantown Friends School located in Philadelphia's Germantown and graduated with a diploma in 1994. She then attended Harvard College, where she received a Bachelors in Arts degree. Welker has been since the age of 20 to John Hughes who is a famous marketing director at Merck Philadelphia. They have two kids. They began an affair during 2014, when they were together. John her husband is a year younger than her.
